PHOENIX GENERAL COUNSEL LAWYER

Your goal as a business owner is to deliver profit for shareholders, partners, or members. At Giles Law, our goal is to assist you when legal expertise is required for compliance issues, employment matters, contracts, intellectual property rights, and dispute resolution. Our firm’s general counsel services offer your business an efficient way to get regular access to the legal advice you need in any circumstance.

We want to develop a relationship with you to give us a strong working knowledge of the ins and outs of your business, culture, goals, and concerns. By working with our team, you can minimize the potential for conflicts in the future, although we will also represent you in the event litigation becomes unavoidable. Our model saves you the cost of adding an in-house attorney (or a temporary attorney with no background on your business) to your payroll.

Contact the Phoenix general counsel lawyers at Giles Law today to learn how we can benefit your business with our collaborative, community-minded strategies. Our legal team is here to discuss your options and implement solutions that support your company’s growth, including utilizing our network to find the professionals you need to achieve your business objectives.

Our Flexible Services for General Counsel

Our general counsel services are customized to fit each client’s needs and budget, typically involving a monthly fee for a specified length of time. At a minimum, the monthly fee provides access to the following services.

Complimentary Visit

A complimentary visit to our local offices allows the client to meet key contacts and explain how their business works.

In addition, at your request, an attorney will visit your local offices (within 40 miles of Phoenix) to get a firsthand understanding of your people and processes.

Monthly Hours of Legal Advice

Our Phoenix general counsel attorneys offer a specified average number of hours of legal advice per month based on individual needs. Some months may be lower, and some may be higher. These fluctuations will not affect the cost so long as the hours remain within the agreed-upon average. At the end of each year, we will provide an audit of the client’s hours so they can determine whether they want to modify their monthly commitment.

These hours of “legal advice” encompass any legal issues our lawyers are qualified to handle, including but not limited to the following:

  • General, everyday legal and compliance issues, always with an eye toward positioning you to avoid litigation

  • General contract review, negotiations, and editing

  • Corporate governance, including board meetings and documents

  • Advising on fiduciary duties

  • Drafting, enforcing, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating non-compete, non-disclosure, and non-solicitation agreements

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating vendor and professional services agreements, including developing and maintaining relationships

  • Drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and negotiating commercial leases

  • Risk assessment, management, and mitigation

  • Managing discovery and e-discovery responses, including responses to subpoenas and other requests for documents

  • Supervision and evaluation of local or special Counsel

  • Arbitration, mediation, and general negotiation of disputes

  • Special and customized Projects

Network of Vetted Attorneys

Our clients benefit from our extensive national network of vetted attorneys. Our general counsel lawyers in Phoenix will utilize this network—from which we get no kickbacks or other compensation unless disclosed to you first—to provide honest, transparent referrals to other counsel when a client requires an attorney outside our jurisdiction or with a niche practice area that is beyond our expertise. Upon request, we can collaborate with or supervise other attorneys to ensure the client’s needs and business goals are being understood and met.

At Giles Law, we develop long-term relationships with our clients, including litigation representation if necessary, without any concerns of conflicts arising in the future.

Preventing and Resolving Disputes

Starting or operating a business entity requires not only compliance with city, state, and federal regulations, but also myriad contracts. Complications can arise at various stages: when obtaining a physical location, entering contracts with suppliers, or protecting intellectual property. At every step of the way, businesses need an experienced attorney who can identify their needs, suggest options and strategies that fit within the relevant laws, and implement solutions that provide short- and long-term protection in keeping with the company’s values and growth strategies.

The more you grow, the more potential you have for legal troubles to arise, such as disputes over contracts, issues with non-competes, squabbling between partners or members, or intellectual property disputes. We work hard to find the most efficient and effective resolutions to these disputes, from prevention to negotiation and settlement to complex litigation—our goal is to efficiently and strategically protect our client’s legal rights.

The Benefits of Early, Effective Legal Counsel

Effective legal advice and advocacy can have an outsized impact on a company’s present and future. The sooner one addresses disputes and implements protective measures against possible civil liability, the less likely it is that a small dispute becomes a big liability.

Counsel can also negotiate disputes as they arise, with the goal of resolving issues early, efficiently, and effectively. If and when disputes proceed to litigation, we are experts at litigating business issues in state and federal court.
