Background & Education

Susan R. Pratt, Senior Paralegal at Giles Law, PLLC has assisted with civil and criminal cases in Arizona, predominantly commercial litigation matters, for over three decades.

Her breadth of experience includes complex commercial litigation cases, securities fraud litigation, construction defect cases, and professional responsibility matters before the Arizona State Bar.

Susan began her paralegal career at Haynes and Boone in Dallas, TX, and has worked at a number of outstanding Arizona law firms since then, including Jennings, Strouss, & Salmon, Osborn Maledon, P.A. and Polsinelli. It was her good fortune to join Giles Law, PLLC in May, 2020, where she enjoys assisting the team on its varied, interesting, and challenging commercial litigation cases. She finds fulfillment in helping clients to achieve their best results, in or out of court.

Susan graduated summa cum laude from Northern Arizona University in 1984, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and paralegal certificate. While at NAU, she was elected to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Susan is an avid art and film buff and a long-time member of the Phoenix Art Museum and the Phoenix Film Society. She is a dormant sports fan, springing to life every other year to rabidly watch the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

Experience/Results

  • Extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts.
  • Assisted attorneys in identifying key documents that were presented as evidence at a trial resulting in a $1.5 million jury verdict for the firm’s client.
  • Extensive e-discovery experience, including work on a large securities fraud litigation matter with a database containing over 14 million pages of discovery documents.
  • Assisted pro bono client to recover retirement savings lost in a fraudulent investment scheme.
  • Assisted defense team in winning a new trial based on newly-discovered evidence for a wrongfully-convicted client, ultimately resulting in his exoneration
